I think the porn community has helped the technology industry find new and innovative uses for its products. WiFi will develop faster because pornography will have made it better.

What if I want to share with strangers? What if I know enough to protect my own material (say I use a VPN) and I don’t mind if random strangers use my spare bandwidth? What’s wrong with that?

Sharing is fine, but you could add a WEP key and only allow MAC addresses of those you want to share with, then at least you’re somewhat secure. It’s all in the manual or a quick call to the router manufacture.

You are also right that it’s not the fault of the WiFi owner that this guy is sick.

What if you want to share your WiFi connection? Plent of people do, and (if they are legally allowed by their service contract) why should they not do it? I mean, look at NYC, where this could have easily happened in Bryant Park where free WiFi is offered as a service. You’re saying it should be THEIR fault?

Plain and simple this is the fault of the SICKO in the car. Don’t pin it on the WiFi owner. That’s backwards.

I can’t understand why everyone talking about this case is focused on the wardriving part of it. The guy did so many other awful and terrible things and all anyone can talk about is that he was using someone else’s WiFi?!?
