Intel Scientist predict the end to Moore’s Law

Posted by geeknews at 1:56 AM on December 2, 2003

Predicting that the shrinkage of transistors can not go on indefinitely Intel Scientist are predicting that around 2018 will see Moore’s law come to the end in shrinkage of transistors.

I always kinda laugh when I hear this because as humans push the envelope on technology one needs to realize that it is a vicious feeding cycle as breakthrough and discoveries drive more innovation so I personally do not buy there prediction. [MSNBC]

It could be, I have read a good book called “Visions” by Michio Kaku and he gives very good reasons why thing could be true. He says that we will reach the point of quantum computing, but anything smaller than 7nm atoms behave differently. Like you said though some other idea may come out that will surpass this idea.
