National Whitepages for Mobile Phones

My mobile phone number is not exactly private but I have also never received a telemarketers call at 3am HST on it either. Apparently there is in works a plan to publish a white pages of mobile phone users. I will be beyond pissed if this happens. [Dan Gillmor] [New York Times]

That would piss me off as well. There’s absolutely no way this should be tolerated.
One of the ways I deal with telemarketers on landlines now is saying, “Uh, you know this is a cellphone?” – they hang up pretty damn fast.
