Yahoo not afraid of Google

Posted by geeknews at 6:22 PM on April 27, 2004

Give me a break. I haven’t searched for anything on Yahoo in 2-3 years. This is after they pissed me off and started charging to get sites added to there database. Google has the 2500+ pages on this site indexed completely. Looking at the stats today I have received nearly 7630 hits from Google searches alone. How many from Yahoo 121. Tell me who is more effective! Yahoo has nothing to worry about because there search engine and index Sucks. [ZDNet]

I don’t use the regular Yahoo! search engine, but I do use the Yahoo! News search engine. They usually carry AP and Reuters stories that I want to reference but have a hard time finding elsewhere. For everything else I use Google.

Is that 7000 hits in a day from Google?! That would be amazing.

Well, I use both services. Google is the first place I go for news and web searching, but sometimes it ends up not being the only place depending upon what I am looking for. Also, I’ve used My Yahoo! as my home page for years, and am quite happy with it. I don’t expect that anything will be replacing it any time soon.
