O'Reilly: MT3 and a Balanced Diet.

So I've spent the better part of yesterday and this morning reading email and response to my earlier O'Reilly post. there are some good counterpoints in addition to some real rubbish. I recap and offer some potential balance.

I think it's a well established fact and no secret that MT existed on donations so I didn't bother repeating what I thought was the obvious. There was no conspiracy to distort the facts as your comment implies.

The former request for donation said a lot, but most importantly it closed with "But by giving as much as you think the program is worth, you ensure that we can keep making Movable Type better, and we are thankful for your support." The community felt it was worth less then 50 cents which is not enough to continue on let alone run a business.

I would pay $69.95 for MT 3.0 (actually $49.95 with my $20 donation I've already paid), but that license doesn't work for me. I have 12 blogs and over 20 users. From what it looks like, that kind of license is something I can't afford. I'm willing to pay, just not that much.
