Seems that some software vendors are having to make changes to their aggreators because of Bloggers stupidity. I used to have respect for Evan Williams but now I am sure the forces at Google are forcing him to go with Atom it’s to bad he doesn’t have a sack and stand up to them.
The solution would have been simple provide a check box for the users and allowed them to choose if they wanted an Atom or RSS feed file created or both. But it pains me to see authors putting the following in their upgrade notes.
* Blogger.com doesn’t offer RSS anymore. Add news feed wizard changed.

That’s a lie. Blogger still supports RSS for all the users that previously had RSS (old Blogger Pro users).
And how about new users and those who don’t have BloggerPro account?
If you go to Blogger help, and click on “Syndication”, specially on the question “What is RSS? How do I get it to work?” (http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=290&topic=36) the image there shows an option where you have exactly what you are proposing: a drop-down box for you to choose among RSS, Atom or no feed at all….
It says nothing about this being only for previous Blogger Pro users… but as we all know, it is not at all present on our settings….
This article says: “This is a Blogger Pro feature only; to use RSS as a non-Pro user, try FeedBurner.” So I assume that blogger.com does not supports rss anymore. That’s very sad. I’m not Blogger Pro user. And I don’t wonna use third-party service to generate my rss feed.
