I have some Gmail Invites to give away

Posted by geeknews at 8:55 PM on June 20, 2004

Google has given me a number of Gmail invites to give away and I thought I would offer them up here. Being this is a technical site I am looking for technical resources so the person that suggest to me the best resource will get an account. I will give everyone 3 days to come up with suggestions and you are not limited from only commenting once you can put in as many suggestions as you want.

I currently have a pretty huge resource list that I cull information from so you better dig deep.

I will put this one in as a probe… It’s in Russian, but it is really big and updates a lot ;) If they are for personal use and different languages do not qualify, let me know :)

Not so much a technical resource, but more of a good cause. You could donate a couple of them to http://gmail4troops.com

Wonder what the basis is upon which Gmail gives out invites? I’ve had my gmail for about a week and a half now and not a scent of an opportunity for me to give it out to friends!

    Cheers

I agree with Santosh on this one.

Daily Rotation (www.dailyrotation.com) is a great tech resource site. At the bottom of the page you can choose your feeds from nearly 300 tech-related websites. A few (ok, maybe more than a few ;) of these I really like are (in no particular order):

Several sites for great deals on “tech toys” are:
    http://www.slickdeals.net
    http://www.techbargains.com
    http://freeafterrebate.info

I usually check these sites out several times a day. Sometimes the deals expire rather quickly. Although you can sign up for email alerts. I’ve gotten some great deals there.

However, it pays to check out the comments, forums and other review sites before making a purchase. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
