Deep Impact Nasa to fire projectile at Comet!

I guess I am into domesday scenarios, and think if you are going to spend money to fire a projectile at a comet then why not fire a nuke at it and see what effect that has. Instead they plan on making a mini crater on the comet and looking at the dust. I suppose a nuke would defeat their plan to look at the dust created by the impact. [ZDNet]

    What is more interesting is what will they do when they actually find that by hitting it, it turns round in direct line of fire with us.
