Not being much of a Linux guy I bit of more than I could chew when I signed up for the VDS service with GoDaddy. If you are going to run a standard webserver with nothing fancy on it you can probably handle it as a non Linux person.
Because I am running all kinds of crazy perl modules and such I needed help. The box is running Red Hat Linux version 9 and they have Plesk as a administrator interface. We have had some growing pains and if I had not had someone that knew Linux intimately I would be back on shared hosting.
Once you get the account your pretty much on your own. I have been luckier than most as I have been giving feedback to their COO on my experience. If your a Linux Guru you probably would be pretty happy on their service. But until they get a streamlined support process in for those of us needing dedicated VDC or dedicated boxes I may have a few more suggestions.
