Speed is in the Eye of the Beholder

After the Podcast last night which referenced the Windows bigot, Paul Thurrot’s article about a PC beating a Mac in speed tests, I thought I’d bring you a more representative article showing the opposite of these results. And since I know Todd is fair and unbiased in his reporting, he will of course give these tests the same legitimacy that he gave the pro-Windows website’s results.

Check out Barefeats.com’s benchmarks. It is far less biased, and shows Mac and PC winning in different areas. It so sad to read these “Mac is faster” or “PC is faster” stories and just getting one side or the other. Each system handles certain aspects of computing better then the other, if you’re a gamer and want to play Doom, a PC should be your choice, if you’re a graphics person or like to work with photos and videos, then without a doubt, a Mac is the right choice. Always remember to take benchmarks with a large grain of salt.
