Akimbo lowers price to $99.00 for Set Top Box

Ok here is a company that is on to something cool even though their channel selection is a little thin. Why doesn’t this company make a card to put in Media Center PC’s or am I missing something here. It would seem to me to be the perfect accessory for a media center PC. Otherwise the price drop is good and the one time fee is not bad considering the price you have to pay for some media. [DesignTechnica]

    Hi… we are doing just that, we’ve announced a version of Akimbo for Media Center Edition that will ship in Q4 this year. And you don’t need a $99 card, as you hoped for… it’s all done via software so no additional hardware at all.
