Level3 is bad. I used to ave 75-90ms in latency when playing World of Warcraft (which is normal). Lately it’s been 175-400ms on average which is unacceptable.

Check out hop #8. I emailed them and my ISP but no one seems to really care. TimeWarner is the only ISP offered where I live and Level3 is a big monster — so who else can you go to anyhow if you quit? It really is a bad situation.

Todd, that totally sucks, Its going to effect all us podcasters at one point. I have been pretty lucky I don’t think it’s affecting me yet as my subscibers continues to rise and I havn’t gotten any emails from my listeners yet. But I have noticed a BIG chuck of the podcasts I listen to I can’t get their newest shows.

Hey Todd, if I were you, I’d call up Cogent and try to service from them.

On that page, it says, “Cogent will offer any Level 3 customer, who is single homed to the Level 3 network as of October 5, 2005,
one year of full Internet transit free of charge at the same bandwidth currently being supplied by Level 3.
Cogent will provide this connectivity in over 1,000 locations throughout North America and Europe.”
That’s just something to look into.
