		<description>Actually, Google books have been a nice addition I think. I can&#039;t say from a published perspective, but as  a consumer I like the idea of being able to do a quick look up on Java or PHP. Also, I equate it with walking into a book store and thumbing through a book to see if I like it.

That being said, if you go and look at any of the books on there, and if it&#039;s still in print, they&#039;ll post a link to whatever link the publisher wants to buy a paper book. I don&#039;t think a company like Google would do something like this without quaduple checking to make sure they are within their rights. It&#039;s really the nature of the beast.

As far as the M$ book search is concerned. I think now it&#039;s their turn to play catchup. For a long time they kept companies down by various means, but now they&#039;re having problems combating the newer companies that can move a lot faster than them. It causes what I call the &quot;me too&quot; syndrome. It&#039;s M$&#039;s way of competing these days. Sad.... very sad....
