I can’t agree with you more on MT. I have tried WP 1.5, and I think it sucks. I don’t care that 6A is charging for MT. I’m willing to pay for good software. Especially when it’s written in perl. I’m glad to find another blogger who feels the same as me.

I agree with the others. Give WordPress 1.5 a try instead of the beta 1.6 that is on WordPress.com. It can do everything that you said MT can do, it’s open source, and has a bigger support community. I think you’ll like it.

If you want a WP 1.5 blog, let me know and I can set one up for you on one of my test websites that I use to test things out and you can play with it all you want

Ow!!! My aching heart Todd and here I was about to convince you that WordPress was just so good.

To be fair, the link above is now prefaced with :-

“Update: since writing this post WordPress’s feeds started validating. That needs to be pointed out because I�ve found the WordPress team is remarkably fast at listening to its users and implementing fixes and features. Yesterday at the Blog Business Summit it was praised on stage multiple times for just this reason.”

And I must say, that my MT installation failed to validate at first. Also remember – Scoble is talking about (and using) an Alpha release, not the current public release.

I, too, had a good look at all the blogging platforms ( detailed at Wet Scalpel my other blog ) and went from there.

No Doubt MT is a great platform, but I don;t think you can rule WordPress out that easily.
