Day of Silence Underway so Listen to a Podcast!

Posted by geeknews at 11:20 AM on June 26, 2007

While I support the day of silence initiative that most of the Internet radio streaming companies are offering this is also a great opportunity for those listeners who have no music to listen to check out podcasting.

One thing though that is disturbing is that their were a couple of sell-outs who did not participate one was Last.fm they apparently sold out to corporate.

Meanwhile the threat to Internet Radio is real and if you haven’t already you need to visit SaveNetRadio.org to get information on how you can speak out about the significant rise in rates these streamers will have to pay to play copyrighted music. Yodel.Yahoo.com

The beauty of podcasting and the content created is that we do not have to pay such fees as we do not play controlled music.

Since an iPod can be taken outdoors, more reason to go outside and enjoy the summer Todd. Free yourself from the computer and turnoff the wifi. Go into town and watch people wait for an iPod. Open the windows and play some vinyl on the stereo!

I don’t mean to tell no one what to do, but, souldn’t podcasters join the effort? Just as a courtesy.

I know you can hear the podcast whenever you want, so it would be fear not to record anything that day. Just my two cents.
