Sites that have PopUp Links on their Pages have lost my support

Posted by geeknews at 3:28 PM on August 31, 2007

I am so pissed off over sites that have PopUp advertising in their content, that I am on the verge of pulling the plug on visiting those sites. No longer can I move my mouse over a web page to a hyperlink thinking it is going to lead to a reference article.

Instead I get this annoying ass advertising pop up that obstructs my reading view. I am really sick of it, and absolutely hate sites that employ this form of advertising. The number of sites doing it is increasing.

I hope they are making a boat load of money because I will no longer click on any link, on any site that employs these pop up’s. If I end up on the page I will close the browser before I click on any links. I would rather pay the site a couple of dollars than have to tolerate this crap!

If you were using Firefox’s Adblock Plus, you’d not have this problem.

    Seriously.

I hate popups of any kind, I hate advertising that flashes and moves and has those silly dancing aliens and etc.

I don’t see them anymore, because of Adblock Plus. YOu really need to get it installed and running. Your annoyances will be over!

I am in TOTAL agreement with you on this. Maybe a quick email to the webmaster would help too.
