I had been working in a lot of different spaces online before plugging into the podcasting movement but since then, I've taken an interest to the sponsors of my favorite shows.

There's no doubt in my mind that sponsors are getting their money's worth because people like me, a college student, will go out of their way to use a sponsor and a promocode or a landing page to support their favorite podcasters.

Having done a marketing project and business plan, I can say that putting a value on the head of 100% awareness from advertising dollars is nearly impossible in other mediums - i.e. if you hear your host talking about it and endorsing it, you know what it is and you're not aware of the product. Amazing.

Not all Podcasters are on CPA deals with GoDaddy some are sponsored. If a show performs well in a CPA deal then their is no reason the show cannot get a standard sponsorship where an amount of money is guaranteed each month.

Podcasters have a responsibility in the equation as well keeping a sponsor happy is hard work. I could probably do a hour in a training seminar on sponsor relations as well.

If a podcaster runs GD ads and they dont result in any sales, do they get paid? If not, seems like free advertising for Godaddy...and a bad thing for podcasting.

Am I wrong?

I just registered a new domain name with GoDaddy earlier tonight due to the fact that GoDaddy supports podcasts I listen to. More companies need to understand the value of advertising with podcasts.
