I agree with both of you to some extent. If broadband was more widely available, prices would drop.

Thanks for your comments, Brian. We are paying $35 for the top-end DSL, which I mentioned is quite fast. I have seven computers in the house and plenty of people using them, so it has been good to have the higher speed. I know the cable prices are even higher than that, but I won’t go with cable here because it is unreliable.

I don’t think the prices are necessarily out of line; my biggest concern is the lack of availability…they can’t say sales are stalling, when they don’t offer it everywhere to begin with. It is so hit or miss as to be a dice game whenever you are moving to a new house around here.

Broadband Internet is quickly becoming as expensive as cable TV, that is outrageous, The Internet was meant to be FREE, I understand they need a fee to connect you, but $40+ a month, that is just too much, and they do it because they CAN, there are no competition in most areas.

Thank God we have finally gotten a free Wi-fi access point in our area.
