Sadly this whole thing is based off a load of inferential stuff that is little more than wishful thinking. The top level students are already reading by the time they are gaming, have vocabularies of thousands of words, and have left these 'gamers cum readers' behind in their intellectual dust. Yet there are fewer and fewer of them each year, which is why international competitiveness is falling, recruiters find fewer skilled candidates, and there are no indicators that this 'new intelligence' is anything other than blather.
