I saw this in my local paper over the weekend and saw it as a desperate plea to improve the perception of the newspaper industry. While some points are correct, like they do invest a lot in journalism. Others I don&#039;t believe fetch much merit. 

No matter how it&#039;s spun now the reality is that advertisers are pulling out of newspapers, thus the reason why papers are failing. Why are they pulling out? Most likely because of the ROI or return on investment they are getting. 

I strongly believe that the model we use now of so many dollars spent per CPM has lost it&#039;s value to some extent. So what if your ad reaches a million people. If if fails to get anyone to purchase anything, what&#039;s the point.

The Internet, Blogging and the Newspapers need to do a better job at target marketing as well as embracing main stream media and adding it to their branding/marketing plan.</description>
