I own the Rode PSA1 and have tried the others. The PSA1 out preforms the others by holding a 3.5 pound mic over others that hold 2 pounds. The PSA1 comes with 2 mounting options, Clamp and a flat mount, where the PL-2t only comes with the Clamp. The clamp that comes with the PSA1 works good but allows for a lot noise when mounted on a desk, The flush mount is the preferred method, you drill a one inch hole with in the desk to mount, it saves on noise by about 85%. The PSA1 comes with about 6 straps to hold the mic cable to the arm and is priced about $25 cheaper then the PL-2T

Todd,

I have a PL2T that has been in service for 3 years holding an MXL 770 (which is big and heavy) and it hasn't missed a beat.

I'm sure it will hold up to your abuse :)

I have three PL-2Ts that I've been using for four years now. They are great booms and so far, they are holding up.
