In a Word a iPhone on Sterioids Check Gizmodo Coverage
Love the concept and they almost did it right. But it is missing the following
No MultiTasking
No Camera
No Flash (Adobe)
No Verizon or T-Mobile
No Widescreen
No HDMI Out
Plus your still locked into the App store. Your not going to be able to load your own applications on this. It’s a locked in ecosystem worse than the iPhone in that you thing your getting a computer but instead what you are getting is a iPhone with no phone and few extra shiny features. For the above reasons I will pass on this one.
No Multitasking is the biggest killer. Why is Apple so scared of Multi-Tasking you know that the Andorid phones and tablets coming will have that feature.
This device would have been perfect for Skype calls. But guess what no camera. IDIOTS!

I get your other gripes about this thing, but a CAMERA, excuse me. This is not the device you want to put a camera on. Devices like this were NEVER meant for video conferencing nor shooting impromptu video photos.
I agree with you that it’s just basically an iPod Touch XXL. On the other points.
*No Multitasking = A future software update for sure
It is unlocked though, which is cool.
*No Flash = Everyone is pushing HTML5 so hope the web dumps Flash
*No Camera = Agreed!! Those things are dirt cheap, so why not put one in???
*No Verizon or T-Mobile = I live in Japan so it doesn’t matter to me. I have at least 2 very good choices
*No Widescreen = Huh? Define wide screen. Turn it on it’s side and it’s wide to me.
*No HDMI Out = Agreed. They said there is a way to connect it to a projector for KeyNote so at least you can get some video out, i hope.
hahaha i can’t stop laughing about the image and the title, an iPhone on steroids! lol
Im an Apple fan boy, but I gotta agree with you, they should have done so much better with this.
Multitasking should be a no brainer along with allowing other and new software to be installed, not just iphone apps.
How could they have not used a widescreen on this thing?!? When you fill the screen with a movie it should be widescreen. As it is, when you double tap to fill the screen, it turns it to 4:3 ratio, that’s oldschool tv…
However I can understand the reasoning for leaving out the camera. Your going to be holding this thing low in your lap and tucked into your belt line a majority of the time, not having it on it’s keyboard dock. With a camera that low everyone is going to have a double chin from looking down at the screen and clear shots up the nose. Nobody wants to see that. The only way the camera would work would be holding it up in front of your face like a camcorder when your recording yourself. That will cause some quick arm fatigue even though it’s not very heavy.
I was expecting it to be able to run some regular software, like maybe an ipad friendly version of photoshop or illustrator. Add a pressure sensitive pen and this would work great for drawing and editing pictures a-la a Wacom tablet.
The only people I can think of that would get the most use out of the iPad are photographers. This is great for a digital portfolio to carry around and show clients. Much bigger screen than the iPhone or iPod touch and easier to hold than a laptop. It would also be a great place for them to dump pictures for wedding slide shows during the reception.
