The Internet War

I have been following the War via the Internet and have found the coverage to be pretty diverse, the Washington Post is reporting that this is the first True Interenet War. My question is have we not been at war since hostilities started in Afghanistan in Oct 2001 thus the net has not expanded that much since then. [Washington Post]
