Largest Solar Flare seen in years

What the heck is going on with the Sun seems like for the past couple of weeks is all we have been hearing about is this gigantic solar flares. Luckily the one observed Tuesday which is one of the largest ever seen will not affect earth but could have registered as high as x20 on the scale use to measure solar flares.

I have to do some reading but I thought we where at the end of a solar flare 10 year peak cycle. Anyway makes for interesting reading and I am sure the big brains out there will keep a eye on it. Not much we can do otherwise. [SpaceToday]
