FBI will not be bugging your on-board navigator

Security Focus is reporting: "An appeals court this week put the brakes on an FBI surveillance technique that turns an automobile driver's on-board vehicle navigation system into a covert eavesdropping device, after finding that the spying effectively disables the system's emergency and roadside assistance features."

I am sure the FBI can bug a car using traditional methods but where looking for a easy way to monitor criminals. I personally think they were pretty smart in doing this but hey I am sure a bunch of people will get antsy. If the FBI has a legal search warrant and a court order to bug a car then I think they should be able to use all the technology at there disposal. [SecurityFocus]
