Why are people obsessed with being a "A" List Blogger

A little over two years ago when I was thinking of starting this website I did it for one reason and one reason only "my enjoyment". Back in 1987 when I launched my dial-up BBS and then later moved it on-line was for my pleasure.

The BBS Hobby had grown stagnant, even though the BBS is still on-line and has several thousand visitors a day it's user-ship is in no way what it was. When we where getting multi-thousands of users logging in each day I had a outlet to yak with other techno geeks about the issues of the day.

This website was a natural progression from that. Even though I may not get as many responses and the discussions are not as lively as they once where I can always log into IRC or other popular discussion forums. That being said I have been seeing a significant number of articles about people bitching that they are not getting referrers from "A" listers. If you consider that their are what a 100,000 people writing weblogs how do you define what a "A" lister is or isn't.

But Scoble does bring up a good point if you want a "A" lister give you need to plug to get a plug back. [Scoble]
