MT 3.0 Pricing makes me scratch my head

I had a huge knee jerk reaction to the new pricing scheme. The more I think about it the more I can't figure out what they where thinking. They self proclaimed a few weeks ago that MT 3.0 would not be a release that would contain a lot of new features. They supposedly went in and cleaned up the code and fixed a issue that the majority of us have already worked around when it come to comment Spam, but besides that the release has very few if any new features. Sure it looks different on the surface but very little in the way of substantial changes.

Six Apart would have been smarter to sold 2 versions a personal and a commercial and then had people subscribe to a Auto-update plan that would encourage people to renew there license yearly to get new features and this would generate continuing income.

Maybe I have it all wrong but you do not release a supposed new product with limited improvements over the older version and slap a serious price tag on it. I want them to succeed but as a consumer I want to get the most bang for the buck. If they would have introduced a bunch of new features people would not be bitching as loud as they are.
