Symantec patches Firewall and Antivirus

When a vendor has to patch for a third time in a year a hole in it's battle armor that is expected to keep virus's and people you do not want in your computer out, I begin to question the products validity. [Desgntechnica]

Patches are available from the Vendor but it is not clear if they will be automatically picker up in a Liveupdate.

somebla:

Let me squash this for you. The documentation on symantec's website is very clear. If you run a successful Liveupdate the patches will be installed. Further the affected products are listed. Personally I feel it is quite impressive how quickly they "symatec" responded. It took them less than 2 months to patch these vulnerabilites. Wow...It takes some software companies years to patch holes if they even do!! Hope this helps as I was concerned at first as well.
