Identity Theft Monitoring Service are they worth it?

I have quite a large net presence and so do members of my immediate family. Being that I live and breath tech, security etc I am very aware of the possibility of being the victim of identity theft. In order to try and mitigate some of that risk I subscribe to several monitoring services. Sure it cost me some money but I think it is money well spent so that I can become aware as soon as possible if someone tags me for identity theft.
