I am a very proud and loyal American. I support the principles of this country and would never do something that would put me under Uncle Sam's scrutiny. As a citizen I pay taxes to Uncle Sam so that my children and I sleep well at night knowing that the government is watching our backs and doing the things that keep us on top of the technology power curve. So I am not all sympathetic
when I hear about some knuckle head messing around with government sensors out in the desert.
Everyone has seen the movies and heard the rumors about Area 51 and I am sure their are a lot of people that would give their eye teeth to visit the site. Uncle Sam has the area restricted for a reason and that is good enough for me. When someone is out there digging up sensors in my opinion that is bordering on treason. So I have no qualms when someone messes with federal property
I would expect the FBI to find out if the individual is a curious george or a foreign spy.
We all are entitled to our opinions and are responsible for our actions. You are free to do a lot of things but people need to realize their are consequences to actions such as this. [The Register]

"Uncle Sam has the area restricted for a reason and that is good enough for me.”
Now don’t get me wrong I don’t condone what he, them, they have done. I think the above the above comment to me is quintessentially American.
This is not an anti American comment but if this is the typical belief that America has about things like in the matter of security and politics and general secretive policies then it just shows how nieve America is towards what is going on around them.
People should ask questions, and be assertive and not take what they are being told for granted.
If people just were to sit back and take what they were told for granted then what kind of a place would the world be now.

If this is the same article I was reading last night, the sensors that the guy dug up were off the Area 51 property, ie on the roads leading in to them. Furthermore, he took pictures and put the sensors back.
One would also think that if the person were a spy, that he wouldn't be putting the pictures up on a web site, nor would he be documenting the history of the site for the world to see (check out the rest of the site, it is quite interesting) :)
And, speaking from a political standpoint, everything the government does, it should be held accountable for. If the cost is a bit of transparency that doesn't otherwise harm anyone, the population is all the better for it.

I have to agree with Sean and mr man. I don't neccessarily agree with what they did. But if we blindly accept whatever Uncle Sam does -- well, you get what you deserve I guess. I say question everything. Hold everone accountable. And take care of yourself.
