At the major ISP I work for it is our slow season. Everyone *is* actually outside and not on their computers. that's just how it seasonally goes.

Yes, there are downward trends and summer probably has alot to do with it (although many of the trends start to go south around Jan/Feb - dead of winter).
However, that doesn't explain the UPWARD trend in other sites (which the article goes on to explain).
The point here isn't just the downward trend, but a CHANGING trend in certain sites. So social sites are more popular in the summer?
