Tivo to refocus on cable and satellite allies

I came across this article at cnet.com discussing Tivo’s plans to improve relations with cable and satellite providers. I believe that it would be beneficial to them to take the time to see what Tivo users really want and how they can provide to their partners. In order for a DirecTV Tivo to have the same functionality as a stand alone one needs to hack their unit. Why make your customers do this? Why not give them the same functionality across all your platforms? Home Media Option (HMO) and Tivo to Go are great and would be well received by the members of the Tivo community that current are not able to have this functionality. I think that when Mark Cuban spoke about listening to what the people want and see what the open source software guys are doing when developing your product he hit the nail right on the head.
