A weekend to forget!

So full of hope I was when I sat down Saturday morning with my list of things to do. I actually accomplished a lot. Participated in the TechPodcasts Roundup but at about 2pm my laptop started acting funny again and it just quit.

Yepp that's one for the scrap heap my trusty sidekick of three years decided it had suffered enough abuse and went and died on me. As I was cursing it's demise as I drove to Compusa to do a emergency laptop buy versus the well planned replacement I was going to do next year I was prepared to end up with something less that I desired.

I ended up switching brands goodbye Sony hello HP and I went with a HP Pavilion ZD 8220 which overall is a pretty fast machine and I love the 17 inch widescreen. Runs a bit hot under the palms but thus far that is my only complaint. Now I have the task of getting it loaded up and so far I have the essentials on and at least am back in business.

I guess I was in denial on the laptop and will probably send it to Sony to get it repaired the machine is a Pentium 4 after all and I just cant see throwing it out if I can get it repaired. So much for the dual core machine.
