A couple weeks before Christmas my wife gave birth to our first child.
Being that she was born into a geek family she wasn't a day old and I
was already building a website for her. It is amazing how many pictures
are taken of a baby in the first few days of life. Now that we are
a digital society I was able to have plenty of content for her website
right away.
Not only did I build a website for her to share the news with friends
and family around the globe but I also bought web cams for selected
family members. I have found that the web cams are great and help keep
us in touch. Currently, I am using Yahoo IM but will be installing Skype
with video soon. Technology has allowed my family to keep everyone up
to date. I am truly amazed at what we can do today and look forward
to what we will have available tomorrow.

It's definitely a trend. My son's site was setup before he was ever born: http://www.trommetter.org/babyboy/archives/2003/09/
And they're talking about it over on Blogging Baby http://bloggingbaby.com/2006/01/15/yes-its-true-my-babies-have-web-sites/
