I have used Adobe GoLive CS2 for about a year now, and from what I was using before it was a pretty significant upgrade for me last year. My development team at RawVoice are using DreamWeaver, and I have been putting off buying it. GoLive was bad enough. So for those of you out there that do a lot of general website designing using style sheets and divs.
What’s your poison. I know there are a lot of other applications out there but for this exercise I'd like to only hear from people that use either Adobe GoLive CS2 or Dreamweaver 8.0

Personally, I like Dreamweaver. I had assumed that Adobe would kill GoLive after the merger and that appears to be the case.

I agree with Bob that Golive's days must be numbered. None the less I've been using it since version 5 and it's still an easier app to learn than Dreamweaver. On the other hand I've recently stopped using it as it generates a lot of junk code and is not so good for Web 2.0.
I'd recommned golive for beginners in a rush but probably dreamweaver to those who have the time to learn it - and definatly to those who wish to pursue any sort of career in web.

I agree that Dreamweaver is the better solution of the two. Back in the early 2000's I was a veteran user of FrontPage. As I was getting into more coding/web developing I fell in love with Dreamweaver and have been using it since version 4. I also love the extensions aspect of it, although they are getting far too expensive these days. I hope Dreamweaver stays going strong for some time.

I've been using Dreamweaver since late 1999. In recent versions it's also turned into a good XHTML/CSS source code editor for those who still like to code by hand (I use the GUI mode for edits). Very few talk about this feature.
Coding by hand may be oldschool, but it's the ultimate in control.
