Microsoft and Yahoo Bridge Global IM consumers win big!

Well this is a development worth talking about, Yahoo and Microsoft is starting beta testing interoperability between there instant messaging service. Folks this is off the charts, and could really drive the other player lAOL to pony up to the bar and play as well. I have been using a single IM client "Trillan" for a couple of years now, and this development will likely make it easier for them to allow cross communications.

I am hoping they allow us to go to one screen name and join those databases at the hip,

In the press release Microsoft and Yahoo says it will create a joined IM community of 350 million accounts. Not only that but they are going to tie there Voice product to this as well. For the first time users are going to be served over the interest of corporate stove pipes simply remarkable and huge win for the consumer. [Microsoft - Yahoo Joint press Release]
