Rent a Phone and get Robbed

If you want to double check on the rotary phone, look at the bill and not at the phone. We discovered a few weeks ago that my grandmother has been paying a rotary phone rental fee. She moved in with the great-grandfather in 1979 and unplugged his phone and used her own. She did not return the phone to the phone company, so they have been charging rent the entire time.

Todd, about the speed test. I think you need to pay attention to the difference between Kilobytes (kB) and kilobits (kb). Speed test and ISP use kilobits, 8 of which make one kilobyte. Firefox, IE, and other programs display your download speed as kilobytes per second. So, 30 kilobytes per second is about 240 kilobits per second. Take in the overhead, etc, and voila, you are getting the 250+ kbps (kilobits per second) that the speakeasy test is showing you.
