Is your PC being used to Send Spam?

Sadly it may be and you don’t even know it. A in-depth report on the lengths spammers are going to is amazing. A unknown Russian group has control of about 70,000 computers worldwide and this is only one of many botnets that are being used to send spam or do task that their masters want them to.

Personally I am sure they are taking advantage of the thousands of people in the world that have no idea that they need to be running firewall and anti-spyware applications. More than half of the machines that made up the botnet were running Windows XP SP2.

This just proves that Microsoft has not done enough to prevent there operating systems from being hacked. [eweek.com]
