In the most recent podcast, you asked why older movies are being shown on HD video channels.

I think that there are two reasons for this.

1) The maximum resolution of stock film reels is higher than HD.

2) I also assume that it is cheaper to acquire the broadcast rights to older movies, than it is for newer movies.
