My good friend Trucker Tom has introduced me to the Elgato Turbo.264 Video converter and his commentary has convinced me that this device is the buy of the week at $99.95.
I should have the unit by Wednesday and I will report back my findings on it but from everything Tom told me this thing renders h.264 at an amazing pace. elgato.com

Does anyone know of a similar device for pcs? I've been looking for something compress a bunch of home videos and speed up the cpu intensive processes ... unfortunately don't currently have a mac.
