Open Source Twitter

I really like the ease of use of Twitter and have been thinking of a couple of cool little side projects that could be run if there was a open source Twitter Clone.

This should not be a hard thing to come up with. If anyone knows of a open source twitter clone please send me a email. Twitter

Hey,

Just finished listening to your podcast (1st time listener). I am a programmer at heart and would be happy to work on such a project, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

Your idea is to have a way to easily write a short blurb about a site you've just looked at and have it publish to your blog automatically?

There are lots of bookmarklets out there that allow you to do this. You're on a page and you click on the +MyBlog bookmarklet for example and a window pop's up with a reference to the page and a spot to enter a description. Bookmarkets can be dragged and dropped for say blogger and wordpress.

Is that what you mean?

Or do you want to give others the ability to write little blurbs on your blog and have them appear in your RSS feed?

Anyway, let me know a bit more details and I'll see what I can mashup.

Hope your wife is feeling better.
