Google Likely to Bid on 700mhz Spectrum

Google is likely to dip into its war chest of cash and bid on the 700mhz Spectrum and while this may not be surprising, some recent comments by Google CEO Eric Schmidt seem to confirm it. He said in part:

“We need to keep the Internet free and open — if it goes the other way, we’re going to have a serious problem,”

Google appears to still be on the bandwagon of trumpeting open networks which I hope they really live up to if they win a segment of the spectrum. Gigaom.com
