Todd, since hearing the news on the Jammie Thomas ordeal I have decided to never, EVER, purchase another CD as long as the RIAA gets any portion of it. I will simply listen to the radio or the CDs and MP3s that I currently own. If the model changes so that the artist gets the money, then I'll change my policy.

Also, I am going to rip every single CD that I own (and I own a few) to mp3 in protest of the belligerent and highly ridiculous statement that 'Making a Copy of Purchased Music is Considered Stealing'.

Now I don't agree with taking music for free not because it hurts the artists, as they typically only get pennies on CD sales, but I should be able to play my purchased music on any device, period, and make as many copies as I want for my personal use.

Based on the latest RIAA legal decision I am going to have to donate money to one of the torrent P2P music sharing services. Every time I see something ridiculous in the news regarding the RIAA I am going to donate money to a P2P music sharing service. I recommend everyone do the same thing.

:)
