The man that killed one-click

When a New Zealand man was annoyed at a book he ordered from Amazon never arriving, he found an interesting way to vent his anger.  While he earned a living as a motion capture artist in the movie industry he had trained in patent law in the past.  Stewing about his undelivered book he started thinking about the Amazon one-click patent and recalled another similar patent application he had seen.

The result was an application for patent re-examination that eventually wiped out most of the Amazon one-click patent.  Peter Calveley has detailed the process on his blog.  And if you want the short version there is a good article on the history of the case on The Register.

I wonder if Barnes and Noble get their money back?
