Another article forwarded to me on how toddlers learning of language is a more sophisticated process than the most powerful computers available are capable of.
Current research suggests that toddlers don't learn language one word at a time, but instead learn in chunks by storing different useages of language and cross referencing them until they confirm the context. This suggests that children learn language better if we simply talk normally to them, with lots of variation rather than using repetition of single words or simple phrases.
