I wonder if Todd would consider this for his next trip to CES?

Police in the UK are now using a simple, but high-resolution, camera headset for surveillance and other needs. I first read about this on Gizmowatch, and went out looking to see if I could find more information. The device is tiny, wrapping around the back of the head and having a wide-angle view similar to your own eyesight. That alone could make this device about the most fun thing to film with that you'll ever find. It also includes a microphone to capture all the audio within range.

The only place I could find to buy them is the Maplin gadget site in the UK. But I imagine these will hit a bigger market in pretty short order. Can you imagine the videos that would end up on YouTube after this thing becomes widely available?

The unit prices out at about $499US. I imagine that cost will be about half that within the year.

(And as an aside, yes, I know Gizmowatch's tag line is "Because boys need better toys to play," and I'm hounding them mercilessly to find a less gender-specific tag-line. Girls need better toys too.)
