Game of Thrones, the popular series of books by George R. R. Martin, has become the runaway success story of TV over the past two seasons, with a top-rated HBO series. Now it’s coming to the internet in the form of an MMORPG (massively multi-player online role playing game) from Bigpoint.
The online release is still a little ways off – beta testing won’t begin until later this year – but they have released the first trailler to whet everyone’s appetite. Best of all, from what we’re hearing, the game will be free to play. That almost certainly means in-game ads, but that’s a minor annoyance.
With the tagline “you win or you die”, users will have the chance to experience player versus player action, siege combat and politics in a bid to take control of Westeros. The :41 second clip is posted below.
